Investment in artificial intelligence will keep growing in Chile: 43.8% of Chilean companies expect to increase it over the next two years, according to the study "Overview of Artificial Intelligence adoption in Chile's business sector" by Experian, released this month and reported by EbankingNews.
The same study shows the other side: only 15.8% of companies have already integrated AI into key business processes, and most run into a problem that comes before the technology: the quality of their data.

How much investment in artificial intelligence will grow
The 43.8% splits into two groups: 26.3% expect a moderate increase and 17.5% a significant one. As for their stage, 27.2% of companies are still evaluating how to implement AI, while 38% say they are at a scalable or more advanced stage of innovation.
The areas where it is used most are finance and financial control (29.8%) and customer service (26.3%).
What companies already using AI gain
Almost two in three companies report that AI has cut the time spent on operational tasks. It is the most cited benefit:
The barrier is not the technology: it is the data
For 64.9% of companies, data quality is the main challenge for investment in artificial intelligence to pay off. Budget limits and a lack of specialized talent follow.
"Data is the foundation on which artificial intelligence models are built," said Gustavo Kosel, Head of Sales & Business Consultancy at Experian.
How it compares with the rest of the region
The results are in line with the Latin American Artificial Intelligence Index (ILIA) 2026 by ECLAC and CENIA: Chile leads the region with 71.4 points, but estimates that only 13.5% of its companies use AI. We analyze those figures in detail in our article on AI in business.
A methodological note: Experian's press release does not say how many companies responded or when the survey was conducted, so its percentages are not directly comparable with the ILIA's.
What it means for you
- If your company plans to increase its investment in artificial intelligence: before buying tools, check the quality of your data; it is the obstacle cited by two in three companies.
- If you are looking for where to start: finance and customer service are the areas where most Chilean companies already use AI, and where there are more cases to compare.
- If you work in data or technology: 46.5% of companies say they lack specialized talent, a sign of demand for those profiles.
