Less than a month before Black Friday, we looked at which are the websites best prepared for Black Friday in Chile from a measurable angle: how fast they load on a phone. Using Lighthouse, Google's free tool, we tested the home page of 11 online stores with a strong presence in Chilean retail, plus cyber.cl, the official event site run by the Santiago Chamber of Commerce.
The result: none of them reaches 50 out of 100 points on mobile. Mercado Libre (45) and Ripley (44) top the test; Falabella, Paris and Sodimac come last, with 14.

Why speed matters on Black Friday
Black Friday 2026 runs from November 27 to 30, and in 2025 57% of sales were online, according to the CCS. We cover it in detail in our article on Black Friday 2026 in Chile.
Speed has a direct effect on sales. A Deloitte study commissioned by Google and published on web.dev found that a 0.1-second improvement in mobile site speed increased retail conversions by 8.4% among the European and US brands studied.
The ranking: mobile performance score
The Lighthouse performance score runs from 0 to 100. Google rates it good from 90, needs improvement between 50 and 89, and poor below 50, according to its official documentation.
Among the websites best prepared for Black Friday, Mercado Libre and Ripley share one trait: their home pages are among the lightest (2.0 and 2.6 MB). Paris, abc, Sodimac, Falabella and Easy exceed 8 MB, which slows down the download on a mobile connection.
The figures, site by site
| Site | Score | Main content load (LCP) | Blocking time (TBT) | Visual stability (CLS) | Page weight |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Mercado Libre | 45 | 6.9 s | 1,312 ms | 0.002 | 2.0 MB |
| Ripley | 44 | 6.7 s | 1,783 ms | 0.091 | 2.6 MB |
| cyber.cl | 34 | 15.8 s | 5,028 ms | 0 | 3.1 MB |
| abc | 33 | 36.6 s | 5,076 ms | 0.081 | 9.3 MB |
| Easy | 33 | 26.8 s | 19,680 ms | 0.012 | 8.3 MB |
| Hites | 29 | 9.6 s | 4,328 ms | 0.004 | 3.6 MB |
| Líder | 27 | 7.2 s | 15,662 ms | 0.056 | 2.8 MB |
| PC Factory | 27 | 27.0 s | 3,526 ms | 0.035 | 3.9 MB |
| Jumbo | 26 | 9.3 s | 6,693 ms | 0.131 | 6.2 MB |
| Falabella | 14 | 56.6 s | 13,905 ms | 0.271 | 8.3 MB |
| Paris | 14 | 14.6 s | 10,498 ms | 0.238 | 10.2 MB |
| Sodimac | 14 | 31.3 s | 9,319 ms | 0.277 | 9.3 MB |
How to read the table, based on Google's Core Web Vitals targets:
- LCP measures how long the main content takes to appear. The target is 2.5 seconds or less; no site meets it in the simulation.
- TBT measures how long the page does not respond to taps while loading. Easy and Líder exceed 15 seconds.
- CLS measures how much elements "jump" while loading. The target is 0.1 or less: eight sites meet it; Jumbo, Paris, Falabella and Sodimac exceed it.
What else the test showed
- Basic technical SEO: all sites score between 85 and 100 in Lighthouse's SEO check, which looks at elements such as titles, descriptions and crawlable links. We go deeper into these points in how to implement technical SEO.
- Accessibility: Líder has the best score (97); Falabella (58) and Sodimac (60), the lowest.
- La Polar no longer has its own site: lapolar.cl redirects to abc.cl, the brand created by the merger of La Polar and AD Retail. That is why we measured it once, as abc.
- Líder was the most erratic site: its five runs ranged from 6 to 46 points. We report the median (27).
How we ran the test
- Tool: Lighthouse 12.2.1 in mobile mode, which simulates a mid-range phone on a slow 4G connection.
- What we measured: each site's home page, five times on October 29, 2026, from Santiago. We report the median of each metric; for Easy and Jumbo, two runs and one run failed respectively, so the median uses the valid ones.
- Limits: this is a lab test at a single point in time. Someone with a good connection will see shorter times, and results change with ads, tests and traffic. It does not measure stock, prices, payment methods or how servers cope with traffic spikes, so it is not a full assessment of each store: it identifies the websites best prepared for Black Friday only in terms of how light and fast they are today.
Online retail already carries weight in Chile, as we show in e-commerce in numbers, and speed also affects search rankings: we cover it in how to optimize SEO for online stores.
Websites change every day. InfoByData will test them again before November 27 and update this comparison with the results.
What it means for you
- If you shop on Black Friday: the heaviest sites may be slow on your phone; using the store's app or a wifi connection can help during peak hours.
- If you run an online store: check the weight of your home page and images. You can start with our SEO Checker and the guide to integrating AI into your online store.
- If you work in digital marketing: before investing in campaigns for November 27, make sure the site your clicks land on loads quickly on mobile; the websites best prepared for Black Friday are the ones that do not lose sales in those first seconds.
