AI Checker: check whether your page can appear in ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity
Paste a URL and check whether the ChatGPT, Claude, Google, Perplexity and Copilot crawlers can read it, and whether it has the signals AI answers rely on.
The check reads the HTML returned by the server and the site's robots.txt and llms.txt files. Some sites also block crawlers at the server or with a firewall (for example, Cloudflare); that does not show up in robots.txt.
How to use the AI Checker in 3 steps
- 1
Copy the page URL
It can be your home page, a category or an article. Each page is checked separately.
- 2
Paste it and press Check
The AI Checker reads the robots.txt, the llms.txt and the page HTML in seconds.
- 3
Fix what shows up in red or yellow
Start with blocked search crawlers and with noindex or nosnippet, which affect your AI visibility the most.
Frequently asked questions about the AI Checker
What is AI visibility?
AI visibility is the chance that your page is cited in the answers of AI assistants and search engines such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Google's AI Overviews, Perplexity, Claude or Copilot. The first requirement is technical: their crawlers must be able to read the page. In visibility in AI search engines we show which Chilean companies appear in those answers.
What does the AI Checker review?
The AI Checker reads your site's robots.txt and tells you, crawler by crawler, whether OAI-SearchBot, GPTBot, Claude-SearchBot, ClaudeBot, Googlebot, Google-Extended, PerplexityBot, Bingbot, Applebot and others can access the page. It also checks whether the page asks not to be indexed (noindex) or not to show snippets (nosnippet), how much text it delivers without JavaScript, its headings, structured data, author, date, sitemap and whether an llms.txt file exists.
What is the difference between search crawlers and AI training crawlers?
Search crawlers, such as OAI-SearchBot, Claude-SearchBot or PerplexityBot, read pages to show and cite them in answers. Training crawlers, such as GPTBot, ClaudeBot, Google-Extended or CCBot, collect text to train AI models. You can block training crawlers and still allow search crawlers: that is why the tool shows them separately and only search crawlers count toward the score.
How is the AI visibility score calculated?
Each checklist item is worth 1 if it is fine (✓), half a point if it can be improved (!) and 0 if it is missing or blocking (✗). The score is the average, from 0 to 100. The llms.txt file and training crawlers are shown for information but do not add or subtract points.
What is llms.txt and is it required?
llms.txt is a proposed file, placed at the root of the site, that summarizes the content for language models. It is not required and, for now, no major search engine confirms using it to decide which pages to show. That is why the checker reports it but does not count it in the score.
Does blocking GPTBot remove me from ChatGPT?
Not necessarily. According to OpenAI's documentation, GPTBot is used to train models and OAI-SearchBot to show sites in ChatGPT search. If you block GPTBot but allow OAI-SearchBot, your page can still appear in answers. The same applies to Google-Extended: blocking it does not remove you from Google Search or AI Overviews, which use Googlebot.
Why does the AI Checker say a crawler is allowed if my site blocks it?
The tool checks what robots.txt says. Some sites also block crawlers at the server or with a firewall, such as Cloudflare, and that does not appear in robots.txt. To review the rest of the page's SEO, use the SEO Checker. And to see how much traffic changes with AI Overviews, read AI Overviews in figures.
Does this AI Checker detect AI-written text?
No. This AI Checker does not analyze who wrote the text or whether artificial intelligence was used to write it. It checks AI visibility: whether the ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude and other crawlers can read your page, and whether it has the technical signals AI answers rely on.
Is the AI Checker free?
Yes. It is free, requires no sign-up and you can check as many pages as you need. It only works with public pages and does not use artificial intelligence to analyze: it reads the site's files, so it does not store or send your content to any assistant.
